DermWorld Insights and Inquiries provides critical perspectives on current dermatologic literature meant to be used in the clinic today and in the future.
About the editor
Dr. Heymann is the editor of the American Academy of Dermatology website DermWorld Insights & Inquiries and is a co-editor of the textbook Treatment of Skin Disease. He is a past editor of Dialogues in Dermatology and has authored numerous papers and book chapters, focusing mostly on a variety of issues related to medical and pediatric dermatology. He currently has a column named “A Clinician's Perspective” in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology where he discusses current dermatologic subjects of interest. Dr. Heymann was the inaugural recipient of the 2011 Practitioner of the Year Award from the Philadelphia Dermatological Society, presented for Dr. Heymann’s exemplary service as a practitioner of dermatology. In 2013 Dr. Heymann was honored as the Dermatologist of the Year by the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology. He has consistently been listed as a “Top Doctor” in Philadelphia Magazine, New Jersey Monthly, South Jersey Magazine, Best Doctors, and U.S. News and World Report. In 2015 he was named a Master Educator at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. The Medical Dermatology Society presented him with the “Lifetime Achievement” Award in 2018 for his contributions to the discipline. In 2019 the AAD honored him with its Thomas G. Pearson Memorial Education Achievement Award. In 2023, Dr. Heymann was named an honorary member of the American Academy of Dermatology. In 2025 Dr. Heymann was the recipient of the AAD Master Dermatologist Award.
