DataDerm delivers: Platform growth fuels dermatology science and quality
Facts at your Fingertips
By Emily Margosian, Senior Editor, August 1, 2025
Nearly a decade after its launch, the Academy’s DataDerm is the largest clinical registry of dermatologic patients in the world, containing data from over 15.2 million unique patients as of Dec. 31, 2023 (doi: 10.1016/j.jaad.2025.03.083).
Each year, the Academy releases an annual report serving as an update on the initiative’s evolution, including the current status and future plans of DataDerm. Throughout 2023, DataDerm supported members of the AAD in meeting regulatory requirements, conducting health services research, and informing the advocacy efforts of the AADA. In spring 2025, DataDerm transitioned to a more advanced platform featuring enhanced functionality and new registry development options to support expanded clinical data capabilities.
