How do I reinstate my membership as a Fellow or Associate member?

Asked and Answered

October 1, 2025

To start the reinstatement process, visit staging.aad.org/reinstate-membership.

Please allow 7-10 business days for processing. You will be notified when the request is approved and how to process payment for the current year’s membership dues, including a $100 reinstatement fee. For the remainder of this year (October 2025–December 2025), the reinstatement fee is offered at a discounted rate of $35.

  • Reinstatement requests are for the current year only for past dues-paying members. This applies to any Fellow, International Fellow, Associate, International Associate, Affiliate, or Adjunct member who is requesting reinstatement to the same category.

  • Reinstatements can occur at any time of the year. However, membership dues are not pro-rated based on when you reinstate.

  • Full membership dues will be due if you wish to be active for the current year.

For Fellow and Associate membership reinstatements:

  • Complete the reinstatement form and provide a copy of your current medical license.

  • If reinstating now, you will be able to register for the 2026 AAD Annual Meeting in Denver at the physician member rate when registration opens in November 2025.

Do not complete the reinstatement form if any of the following apply:

  • You have recently completed or will be completing a dermatology residency or fellowship.

  • You have never been a dues-paying member.

Instead, if eligible, learn more and apply for membership.

For additional assistance with membership reinstatement, contact the Member Resource Center at mrc@aad.org, or visit the AAD Help Center.
