Educating the public — skin healthy magazine

skin healthy: Help us educate your patients right from your office
More than 12,000 U.S. AAD members have received the first issue of AAD’s skin healthy, a new magazine to educate your patients about the common skin conditions you treat, and we encourage you to share this valuable resource during patient visits. All content is reviewed by members of the AAD’s Public Education Committee and Web Content Workgroup to ensure it features the most up-to-date recommendations on protecting and keeping your patients’ skin healthy year-round and stresses the importance of seeing a board-certified dermatologist.
If you’ve instructed your staff to remove magazines and other reading materials from patient care areas to slow the spread of the coronavirus, the skin healthy cover also features a QR code that you can display in your reception area and exam rooms for download. This gives your patients personal-device-access to expert editorial content on common skin conditions during their appointments or after their visits.
The first issue featured timely topics on:
- Skin care tips for hands
- Cold weather sun protection
- Winter skin survival kit
- Thinning hair explained
- What your skin can tell you about your overall health
- The importance of seeing a dermatologist for skin surgery
- When to see a dermatologist for cosmetic procedures
Digital flipbook
