How can I tell if the AAD/A event I'm registering for is legitimate?

Excellent question!
Fake medical conferences and instances of meeting fraud are on the rise, and the ability to spot fakes from the real deal can save dermatologists headaches, time, and money.
Registration for official AAD/A meetings and events should only be done through aad.org or Maritz Global Events (previously Experient, Inc.).
If a link promoting an AAD/A event directs you to a third-party website that is not aad.org or Maritz Global Events, the registration link is fraudulent. These companies may contact you directly to offer registration and/or housing through websites designed to deceive visitors by posing as the AAD website, or the AAD’s legitimate registration and housing partner, Maritz Global Events. Avoid becoming a victim of fraud by verifying the URL of a website before providing any credit card information, rather than relying on the look and feel of the site.
