What is the AAD Fellow (FAAD) designation and why should I use it?

In a health care environment where non-clinician physicians and others claim to be “skin experts,” it is increasingly important to make sure dermatology patients and the public know the profound difference in the advanced training that dermatologists receive. Use the new AAD Fellow (FAAD) designation to promote yourself as a board-certified dermatologist and assure patients and the public that dermatologists are the leaders in diagnosing and treating skin, hair, and nail conditions.
This prestigious designation is only available to board-certified dermatologists who are members of the AAD. Be sure to use the FAAD designation in all of your patient- and public- facing communications.
Here are a few ways to get started:
Download the FAAD designation graphic
Use the FAAD designation in your email signature
Display the FAAD designation graphic on your practice’s website and on your lab coat
Add the FAAD designation to your social media handle and/or professional biography
For more information about the usage policy and instructions on how to download the designation and use the graphic in your email signature, visit aad.org/FAADdesignation.
