Does the AAD offer resources to help with private payer denials?
Asked and Answered
March 1, 2024
Yes — members can access a variety of private payer resources, including a customizable private payer appeal letter generator, in the Academy’s Private Payer Resource Center. This tool can be used by dermatologists and their staff to generate letters from automated templates. These letter templates are intended to help you appeal to private payers when payments are inappropriately reduced. They may be modified to specifically address your circumstances and those of your patients. Access the tool.
Members are also encouraged to share an issue of concern with the Academy regarding a private payer policy. Academy staff want to hear from members to help guide the Academy’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the specialty. Academy staff will respond within 48 hours. Share your story.
